The driver of the Orange Baron Funny Car, who began his career in the A/Gas Supercharged ranks and famously bragged to have never driven anything on the quarter-mile that didn’t have a supercharger atop the engine, won two NHRA national events and finished in the top 10 five times in his career.
Reigning and seven times back to back Top Doorslammer Champion John Zappia is on his way to Willowbank Queensland, Australia for the biggest drag racing event outside of North America – the 2015 Fuchs Winternationals. The event is the final round of the short 2015 ANDRA Top Doorslammer Championship, and Zappia is fully prepared to race.
Reigning back-to-back Australian Super Gas Champion Matt Forbes is so determined to take out the southern hemisphere’s biggest drag racing event, Willowbank Raceway’s Winternationals, that he’ll contest two categories to get it done.
The Fuchs Winternationals (4-7 June) will host the comeback of three-time national champion Ben Bray, following a headline-making incident at the same event twelve months ago.
