With the Brisbane Jamboree coming up this weekend, racers have been getting an early look at the track through testing. Here’s some of the action so far!
Starting with the bad news, Steven Barnett put his 13B-powered Mazda 6 into the wall after buzzing the tyres early. The team are thrashing to see if they can get the car repair before the event begins on Saturday.
Here’s another angle.
In better news, Jamboree owner Collin Willshire ran his first five second pass, a 5.89, in the Proline-powered Ford Mustang.
Frank Marchese dropped his Drag Challenge-winning Ford Falcon into the sixes for the first time with a 6.98/209, later backing it up with a 6.96.
Cory and Jeremy Abbott’s 13B Mazda RX7, all the way from New Zealand, dropped two tenths of a second from their personal best for a 6.63 pass, the third quickest 13B run in Australia and in sight of the 6.56 record held by Pac Performance.
