The Atlantic Oils Rapisarda Autosport International Top Fuel team will once again field a three car assault at the 2025 NDRC Nitro Champs with three-time NHRA Top Fuel Champion Larry Dixon announced as partnering the team once again.
Dixon has a strong connection with RAI and Australia first racing for the team back in 2012 with the most recent appearance in January last season at Sydney Dragway in the inaugural NDRC season. That event was problem plagued for the RAI camp with gremlins in the dragster leaving Dixon in the pits for the event, and scenario that will surely rectified at the Nitro Champs this year.
Interestingly, Dixon is still credited with the quarter-mile ET and Speed Top Fuel record in Australia, a fact that will likely remain cemented in history since the move to the 1000ft era.
RAI are currently on a roll dominating this year’s Top Fuel season Wayne Newby and Damien Harris currently holding the top two spots in the championship respectively, and the latter resetting the Australian Top Fuel 1000ft benchmark with a ripping 3.68 at 331mph at the last start Riverbend Nationals.
NDRC Gulf Western Oil Nitro Champs is on May 2-4 2025 at Sydney Dragway.
