A number of event announcements sees the 400 Thunder Drag Racing Series aiming for a post COVID-19 restart at Willowbank Raceway with Super Thunder announced by Willowbank Raceway to go ahead at Easter.

Willowbank Raceway released the following:

Willowbank Raceway is pleased to announce the return of Championship drag racing as the Easter Super Thunder roars into town for a big two day extravaganza over Friday (2nd April) and Saturday (3rd April).

The show is that good we couldn’t fit it into a single day, so this Easter, get ready for two days of high quality, action packed entrainment.

Like you, we have missed the sound sights and smells of everything that comes with the kings of our sport and we cannot wait to see these action packed vehicles tearing up the strip again.

Top Fuel, Pro Slammer, Pro Stock, Top Fuel Motorcycle and IHRA Pro Mod are all keen to dust the cobwebs off and set the track on fire with their performances.

Like us, all the teams are sick of everything Covid and cannot wait to get back on track and provide a spectacle not seen since our last 400 Thunder Championship round held in January 2020.

It’s been a while but trust us when we say the show will be worth the wait. The Top Fuel teams alone have promised to put on a show, and they are keen to get back on track. Crew Chief of the Jim Read Racing Top Fuel Dragster, Bruce Read, said following the record setting performances the last time car ran, we are hopeful put on one hell of show for the fans.

A quality field of Pro Slammers are looking to set the track alight and show who really are the kings of the tin tops brigade. Steven Ham, the current points leader in Pro Slammer said that he is keen to get his car back on track and is looking forward to the event and again seeing his many fans.

The ever-reliable Pro Stock brigade are looking forward to getting back on track and hopefully the air at Easter will allow the Pro Stock guys to show what they can do.

Not to be left out Top Fuel Motorcycle have promised more Nitro fuelled action in the race to brake the 5 seconds barrier. A small but quality field, led by Chris Matheson, intend to have a real crack at that elusive 5 second pass.

IHRA Pro Mod makes its debut at Willowbank Raceway with this exciting new class looking to show everyone what Pro Mod racing is all about. Look out for these 5 second turbocharged beasts.

All these professional categorise are backed up by a full complement of all Sportsman categories, making sure this is a race not to miss.

So set the date aside because everything from the 500KPH Top Fuel dragster is primed and ready. We cannot wait.

Sydney Dragway has also announced via Facebook details for this year’s Nitro Thunder in May which will feature all 400 Thunder classes.

The Gulf Western Oils Nitro Thunder is back for 2021 at Sydney Dragway! After a break from Sydney Dragway of almost 17 months, the 400 Thunder series roars back into action with 3 days of action with every 400 Thunder category on offer!
