Cory McClenathan’s Topeka campaign for Rapisarda Racing ended with a first round loss to number three qualifier Antron Brown.
Brown taking the points with a 3.80/328 mph pass while the California native had to settle for a 6.34/95.31 mph/h lap after smoking the tyres near the 200 foot marker.
There were early morning dramas for the team with fuel pump issues that necessitated a last minute search for a similar size replacement.
“We had an issue with our fuel pump and it looked like we would not make the round, but thanks to Terry Mcmillen we were able to get a replacement pump and make the show.” said Santo Rapidarda Jnr.
Next outing for the team is the Toyota Summernationals at Englishtown on May 31-June 3.
