The cool weather is still lingering in the West as Perth Motorplex’s packed drag racing season rolls on with an blown alky packed show for the Blown Alcohol Allstars.
Nigel Johnson’s Top Alcohol Dragster dominated the headline brackets, top qualifying with a 5.63, before belting out a 5.59 in the final to defeat Madison Brown’s Toyota funny car.
In Top Comp, Moreno Gullotto was on the money, under his index with the turbo Soarer to top qualifying on a 6.65. He carried that form to the final, staving off a hard charging Kelvin Lyle Top Doorslammer with a 6.62, to the Mustang’s 5.85. This would start and avalanche of wins for the Gullotto family at the event.
Matt Gullotto would take home the trophy in Super Sedan with his VL Commodore against a breaking out Kathy Regan, and Steph Gullotto claimed the win in Super Street, beating Cameron Lockett with he VN Commodore.
In other brackets, Daniel Natalotto conquered the Competition Bike Chicago Shootout, taking the stripe first in the final on his B/SB Kawasaki against Ross Smith, well under the 9.67 index with a 9.24. Jodie Mellitt knocked up a win in Supercharged Outlaws with her dragster, downing Kasey McClure in the final. While Alby Bakranich was too strong for the Top Sportsman field, grabbing the win in the final against Rocco Salvo.
Nick Gardiner’s cool Topolino bodied altered took the win light in the Modified final against Rachel Gannaway on the back of a strong 0.018 reaction. The always tough Modified Bike field shook down to David Partington’s GPZ and Geoff Smith’s BMW S1000RR, the race decided at the tree after a red light from Smith. Lucas Green rounded out the event results snatching the Junior Dragster win on a .007 reacting holeshot over Seth Jarvis.
The Top Doorslammers are back in action at Perth Motorplex next when their Summer Slam series continues at the Summer Slam Showdown on Dec 10.
