Willowbank Raceway has released a packed calendar of events for the 2023 season with almost 70 days of drag racing action listed plus special events including the popular CMC Rocks country music festival.

However, the major news for 2023, is the time set aside in the calendar for the track upgrade, which will commence on August 14.  While Willowbank have set aside ample time to complete the upgrades, the obvious downside will be not being able to use the track while the upgrades take place.

However, once completed, Willowbank Raceway will have the newest racing surface in the country.  Next year will also see a number of major upgrades taking shape throughout the year and we are excited to see the final product.

Kicking off 2023, we will see the Kings of the Sport, the Top Fuel Dragsters on track at the New Year Nitro event on January 6 & 7.

In a first for Willowbank Raceway, this event will be followed up with the American Street Outlaws on track on March 3 & 4.  The No Prep Kings event will be one of the highlights in the 2023 calendar and is another event not to miss in 2023.

April sees the 400 Thunder Championship return to Willowbank Raceway and with the exciting and must-see Top Fuel Funny Cars headlining the event and supported by both Pro Alcohol and Pro Slammer, this is another event not to miss.

June sees the 55th running of the marquee Gulf Western Oils Winternationals taking place on June 8 through June 11, making this event the oldest and most prestigious in the country.  The Gulf Western Oils Winternationals offers all the 400 Thunder Championship Professional and Sportsman categories at one event, and in one place.

This year marks the 55th running of this iconic event, and Willowbank will have some big things taking place to celebrate this milestone, so be sure to book your tickets early for the biggest event on the Australian drag racing calendar.

In between these fantastic events, there are the Apex Epoxy – Queensland Drag Racing Championships, running throughout the year highlighting the very best sportsman racing in Queensland.  With local and interstate competitors competing for the converted QDRC Champion crown.

There is the Archers Smash Repairs Street Series, this off-street racing gives our entry level competitors stiff competition competing to be crowd the Street Series champion.

These championship series are backed up by the Jamboree Sports Compact Series running on August 5 & 6. With the best radial racers in Australia also hitting the track in May when the Kenda Tires 660 Drag Radial Series competitors battle it out.

Throw in specialty events such as the Nostalgia Drags, Diesel Assault, Mopar Sunday, All Ford Day and Stomper’s Eighth Mile series, along with a huge program of the ever-popular Test n Tunes.
