Off season movers and shakers

As racers regroup during the off season in preparation for the marathon that will be the 2013 championship season, we take a peek at some off the off season movements in the ranks.

Here come the Dusters.

Sean Mifsud’s Duster is nearing completion and will be on track in around a month, meanwhile Andy McCoy has also finished former Supercharged Outlaws National Champion Charlie Micali’s Duster destined for Top Doorslammer.

Roger Size has resurrected Dave Koop’s Chev and it too is well on its way to completion as the Hillbilly Express ’55.

We are hoping to see Danny Makdessi’s Valiant Doorslammer ripping it up also in the coming season.

Though not a done deal yet, a current Top Alcohol pilot will be parking his team for a seat in a current Top Fuel cockpit.

Pro Stock has seen a lot of movement, the 6 second Ridgeway Monaro is believed to be heading to a South Queensland Super Stock racer. Word is Ross Sacre sold the ex Dave Newcombe GTO after only some test passes, Denis Whiting also sold his Monaro to Super Sedan racer Jodanna Pullen making way for a new GXP.. Wayne Daley’s Monaro has joined Jason Hedges GTO in WA, with it going to Super Stock racer Jodi Racco, likewise the Spinozzi’s GTO is heading south to Victoria also to a Super Stock racer.

US Tuners will be again making a regular appearance on the Pro Series circuit, Lee Bektash has enlisted the services of Tomi Laine at all events and Brandon Huhtala will be returning to tune for the Jason Grima team.

Ian Brown has his new Dodge ready to rumble, the Grand Am was last seen heading north in the back of Victor Brays transporter.

We will see the new Camaro Pro Stocker on our tracks next year with construction already underway for one current team, stay tuned for exclusive photos in a couple of weeks.

Steve Petrovski who has the C&V prepped LS1 turbo ute and Nick Perkovski are importing this 5 second turbo weapon.

This Sydney based 10.5 Mustang will be joining the fray as well for a yet to be named owner, as too a twin turbo 70’s Camaro for a current Pro Street Blown Sydney racer.

The fate of yet another Mustang is yet to be determined, Hakan Arif who owns the ex Bill Perdikaris XY Ute Super Stocker is deciding 10.5 or Pro Stock for this ride.

The Michelle Davies 10.5 Torana now looks sinister.

NSW South Coast newcomer Chris Deegan unveiled his Pro Street Blown Torana at Motorex.

Craig Hewitts Pro Street Monaro is also nearing completion, the engine combination or class is yet to be decided. It will be joined by another 10.5 Monaro from Stuart Vale at Racer’s Choice.

Matt Grubisa Pro Street Camaro is ready for paint and should not be too long away.

Kit Hunter’s gorgeous VL has had a heart transplant that is pumping some serious horsepower and a choice of Pro Street classes to choose from.

Anthony Fichera has ditched the bottle and also gone with twin huffers looking to shake up Mod Street Blown.

Sports Compact is not forgotten, Nikki Dunlop is set to “Braaap” in the ex Po Tung RX7.

The Mazfix Mazda 6 is nearly repaired following a tumble in licensing at Willowbank.

Craig Dyson has one intense R100 which has just hit the track in private testing.

Likewise Rotormaster are putting the finishing touches on a customer’s R100 which is promised to be a 13B weapon.

Back to the V8’s and Sydney has yet another potent sedan with Royce Field selling his previous Camaro in lieu of this black beauty.
