The Queensland Drag Racing Championship has continued on with the fifth round of the super season at Willowbank Raceway. Here are the results, and some cool pics from Drag Photos from a great day of sportsman racing.
To the results, and QDRC Super Comp were in action with top qualifier Jai Schluter in his high stepping I/MPA Cavalier going the rounds. Schluter ending up with solo in the final after Michael Howard was unable to see the starting green with transmission damage to his AA/AA altered. The Collin clan once again dominated QDRC Comp Bike, it was Chris nabbing the top qualifying spot with a 7.91 and taking down Ken in the final on a 7.920 (8.07IN) to a 8.146 (7.86IN).
Paul Doeblien maintained his lead in the Top Sportsman championship after the Falcon ute delivered a loss on a holeshot to Dave Gauldie in the final – 8.614 (8.53DI) yo 7.390 (7.37DI). In Modified, Kellie Kidd has opted for a boost in performance with twin turbos now hanging off her dragster. It was a dream debut running consistently into the sixes and winning the event over Lucas Holz after being on the better end of a double red light start in final.
Damian Morris had an eventful day in Super Sedan. After blowing out a front tyre on his Monaro in the first qualifier – and fortunately being able to continue thanks to the generosity of Bauer Racing who lent him a new wheel – Morris went on to win the day defeating Tim Barron in a double breakout final. On two wheels and Michael George came up trumps in the Modified Bike final with a 10.943 (10.69DI) against Michael Beaton who left too much on the tree with a 8.697 (8.46DI). John Riley claimed Super Street defeating Angela Holz who took to much at the stripe, breaking out. Rounding out the results was Karl Schultz snatching the win in Junior Dragster over McKenzie Garside in another double breakout final.
Next round of the QDRC at Willowbank Raceway is on July 1st.
