The first drag cars and bikes who have have publicly tested out the brand new drag racing facility at Tailem Bend in front of the media, have given the track a huge thumbs up.
Several racers were invited to test the brand new racing surface, which looks already well rubbered in. The publicity display was carried by the major news networks.
Top Sportsman racer Anthony Raschella was beaming after running a personal best is his stunning 37 Chev.
“Track is fantastic and the proof is a personal best 7.94,” he said. “Not bad for a track that has only had two days of prep work. This will only get better with time – what a venue.”

Former Pro Stock Bike racer Sam Scerri also cut some laps aboard the Overlord Racing Suzuki.
“A great moment for me and the team today,” beamed Crew Chief Matt Dare. “We were the first drag racing motorcycle to go down the Dragway at the Bend today. Oh my god, what a Peach!”
“Never as crew chief have I experienced a strip so sticky, I was literally continuously breaking my boots away from the prepared surface so I wouldn’t fall over.
“It had basically been seven months since Sam had ridden, and he picked up right from where he left off. 3/100th of a second away from our PB to 60 foot, same to 660 foot, and held it flat through the the back door.
“The data and Sam tells me that the strip itself is nice and smooth, and Sam himself said he would have no issues holding a Pro Stock Bike flat through the finish line. We will be back out there Friday Night as part of the drag display for HogFest.”
The first serious hit out for racers and the venue will be this Friday evening. A drag racing exhibition as part of HogFest 2023, an event that is celebrating 120 years of the Harley-Davidson brand will feature seven Top Fuel Bike Nitro plus many other eager two-wheel racers ready to send it down the brand new track.
