With ten championships between them, you would be hard pressed to find two bigger names in Australian Pro Stock racing than Aaron Tremayne and Tyronne Tremayne.
While they have taken a step back from full-time competition, the Tremaniac Racing pair now have the NDRC in their sights – starting with Dragway at The Bend’s Riverbend Nationals next weekend (April 6/7), where Pro Stock will hit the track alongside Top Fuel, Pro Stock Motorcycle and the Aeroflow National Sportsman Championship.
While a championship pursuit is not on their agenda, they do have a very clear goal in mind.
“Our plan is to qualify well, hopefully in the top half of the field, but we will need to be fast to achieve that,” 2022 Pro Stock champion and 11-time title runner-up, Tyronne Tremayne, explains.
“I am told we will have the weather for running quick times at the Riverbend Nationals, hopefully good enough to give the national record a nudge, so we are really looking forward to that – it should be a good race meeting.
“We have been always highly competitive. No matter what sport we compete in, we race to win, as that is the goal of all competitors. You can guarantee we will be trying our best to take home that gold Christmas tree.”
The Tremaynes are not only lining up for the Riverbend Nationals, but also Sydney Dragway’s Nitro Champs (May 3-5) and Willowbank Raceway’s Winternationals (June 6-9) – where Tyronne is the defending event winner.
“We are looking forward to lining up for the last three NDRC events of the season,” Tyronne explained.
“We are only doing the events we want to do now – we are not chasing the championship so no stress there, our aim is to be competitive, be fast, and give that national record a fright; and win a few races along the way!”
“We are obviously pretty excited to go to Dragway at The Bend and be part of the first Pro Stock event there as part of NDRC,” added nine-time and current champ Aaron Tremayne.
“It should be a pretty cool thing.
“It has been quite a while out of the seat for us since the Winternationals last year, but we haven’t really changed too much with the cars so everything should run well and hopefully we can get back in the groove with things.
“It is a super competitive bracket and there are seven or eight cars I think that could potentially win at The Bend; it will just come down to who gets it done on the day.
“You have to have the best car set-up and hit the lights and do the job behind the wheel and sometimes even all that is still not enough – sometimes it is your day and sometimes it isn’t. We just have to do what we do and hopefully it plays out.
“It is a family outing these days, a lot of friends come with us, all the kids, mum and dad and we have had the same crew for a lot of years, so it is great to get out there and do what we love and maybe get a win at the same time – it would mean a lot to us to get that done.”
The Riverbend Nationals will feature Top Fuel, Top Doorslammer and Pro Stock as well as the Aeroflow National Sportsman Series across April 6 and 7 at Dragway at The Bend. For event info and tickets, go to ndrc.tv
