Day 2 of the Winter Warm Ups kept the build up to this week’s Gulf Western Oil Winternationals ticking along with more strong performances.
Damian Muscat starred again with an even quicker 6.004 224mph run that has him tantalisingly close to the five second zone, you can almost guarantee Australia will have their second five-second Top Fuel Motorcycle by the end of this weekend.
The 6.004 wounded the nitro bullet and was still an “unplanned” shut off run, but repairs are under way to have Muscat set to go on the weekend, watch his wrap up below.
Other highlights of the day include Luke Marsden running the quickest pass of the day for Pro Alcohol with a 5.54 in his funny car, followed by the funny cars of John Canulli and Jake Donnelly with a 5.68 and 5.74 respectively.
Steve Read took the Fram Filters Top Fuel Dragster to half track on his only attempt, the team have been hunting electrical gremlins over the event and are confident of a full pass on Friday.
Top Doorslammer championship leader Russell Taylor showed quick consistency with a 5.69 and 5.66.
For Pro Stock, it was only John Barbagallo who kept into it for a full pass yielding a 6.96.
The Gulf Western Oil Winternationals will be held at Willowbank Raceway across June 6-9. For event information and tickets, visit www.ndrc.tv
