With the opening round of the NDRC season only a week away the A.M Motorsport team reflect on a season of learning, recent upgrades and the pursuit for trophies this upcoming season. The fact that the car ran four second passes at over 300MPH reliably at every event last season shows the team are heading in the right direction.
“Our goal last season was for the team and car to be reliable and consistent,” Crew Chief Bret Ehmer explained. “We would have liked a few more laps to get to where we wanted to be, but I am generally happy with our progress.”
A recent visit to the NHRA U.S Nationals and to the John Force Racing headquarters in Indianapolis has inspired Ehmer and prompted excitement for the upcoming Xpro by Aeroflow Nitro Funny Car season.
“Our goal this season is to raise the bar as a team and improve the performance of the car. Season one gave us valuable experience with the car, racing at a variety of tracks and collecting data. During the off season, the clutch department has seen some upgrades and the body has seen some aero balance changes to ensure we are giving it a real go this season,” said Ehmer.
Owner and driver of the A.M Motorsport Nitro Freak, Adam Murrihy, is concerting more emphasis on making every round count and collecting some trophies starting at the Aeroflow Spring Nationals at Dragway at the Bend.
“Every car in the category can win, it is such a competitive class, which makes collecting points in every round vital. We will be doing our best to make our mark on the category and we hope to be at the top of the ladder come seasons end,” said Murrihy.
