NSW’s John Kabboura and his Angry Lemons Racing Chev Cavalier are back for another season of Pro Stock racing, ready to tackle a fiercely competitive field.
Kabboura and the team have an extensive and decorated drag racing career through the sportsman ranks, but as Pro Stock rookies last season, the team had a tough initiation into the professional bracket. Struggling to get on top of their setup in the early phases of last season the team spent a lot of time focusing on developing the car’s setup.
Last weekend the team took to Sydney Dragway in final preparation for this year’s season.
“It was awesome to be back inside the car, I definitely missed it. I got to blow the cobwebs off and get a feel for the new engine,” said Kabboura.
With a brand new engine combination in the car the team hope to continue improve throughout the season, and are hopeful that win lights will show up along the way.
“We are happy with the upgrades to the car, if we can tune the car right we should be up there,” boasted Kabboura.
Last season, Kabboura in a testament to the tightness of Pro Stock, featured alongside the National Record holder Chris Soldatos in the closest race of last season, the race being decided by just four-thousandths of a second.
The local Sydney team have committed to running the full season if the crew’s commitments align with event dates. With the new engine package between the rails the Angry Lemons team will no doubt continuously improve their ETs and threat level to even become the dark horse for this season.
“I could not do any of this without the support of my crew and family, if all goes well we will be having fun and going fast,” concluded Kabboura.
With promising testing results last weekend the team are ready to take on the first round of PDRC Pro Stock season at Sydney Dragway this November 16-17 featuring alongside Pro Stock Motorcycle, Pro Alcohol, Pro Mod, Pro Import and the Grand Finale of the NSW Championship series.
