RESULTS: NDRC/PDRC ROUND 2 – THE BEND

Round two of the NDRC/PDRC Series for Pro Alcohol, Pro Stock, Pro Stock Motorcycle and Pro Mod saw both sensational racing and dramatic moments over the weekend at Dragway At The Bend. Here is the round by round results for the Professional classes.

PRO ALCOHOL: It was the Daniel Reed show in Pro Alcohol, top qualifying, and finishing the event with an A-Final win over Wayne Price for maximum event points and claiming a new Australian Pro Alcohol Funny Car speed record along the way at 271.36mph. Russell Mills still leads the championship despite his horrendous top end crash in round two when a tyre blew on his streamliner FED. Mills fortunately has been released from hospital with some bumps and bruises but is in good spirits.

PRO MOD: Carl Cox top qualified with his sensational Procharged Barracuda on debut in Australia with a 5.86. Amongst the mechanical carnage Cox would push on to the A-Final against Andrew Sutton who has transitioned from Top Doorslammer to Pro Mod for this event. Sutton would take the win light in the A-Final is a double breakout race with Cox going red. Zoran Gajic leads the championship now after two events.

PRO STOCK: Defending champion Rob Dekert put the cleaners through Pro Stock with a faultless display racking up maximum event points to reclaim the championship lead. Mario Polito gave Dekert a scare in the A-Final strapping on a big holeshot before the Unique Racing GXP narrowly edged ahead where it counted at the stripe.

PRO STOCK MOTORCYCLE: Luke Crowley reset the Australian Pro Stock Motorcycle speed record at 193.59mph on a barnstorming 7.012 A-Final winning run against Scott White who gave it a great shot pumping out a 7.20.
