The Pro Drag Racing Championship would like to express its sincere gratitude to Dragway At The Bend, the Australian National Drag Racing Association, and all competitors and spectators who contributed to the outstanding success of PDRC series Round 2 and the ANDRA Regional Sportsman Championship.

Despite some challenging moments over the event with on-track incidents on both days causing significant delays to the racing schedule, all the event management teams, officials and racers came together to finish competition on Sunday very close to the original schedule, proving what can be achieved when there is sole focus on achieving a goal.

With the track racing surface flawless all event due to the tireless efforts of PDRC’s Justin Simpson and the Dragway At The Bend’s track staff, particularly following several major clean ups, several thousand spectators witnessed superb and record setting racing from both the Professional and Sportsman classes before selling out many of the teams’ merchandise stock.

The PDRC would also personally like to extend its appreciation and thanks to Dr Sam Shahin for providing such an outstanding world class venue that is only going to continue to grow in stature and the PDRC cannot wait to return soon.

“What an amazing weekend of drag racing we have just witnessed here at The Bend, the PDRC team led by a highly committed and passionate Jason Hedges should be so proud of the event that they brought to the venue,” responded Shane Collins Dragway & Experience Program Manager.

“From all of us at the Dragway at The Bend are very excited to continue working with PDRC and already have some exciting plans in the pipeline moving forward. If this was the starting point, we are certainly excited by what the future will hold.”

Tim McAvaney, ANDRA CEO added, “The drag racing that was produced on the weekend was first class and the event ran so smoothly thanks the hard-working teams at Dragway at the Bend, PDRC and ANDRA.  We can’t wait until the next one!”

For PDRC Promotor Jason Hedges it was justification for what can be accomplished.

“With all the curveballs thrown at us over the weekend I am so proud to say we all got it done, said Hedges. “ANDRA, The Bend, and the PDRC teams all pulled together, rowed hard in the same direction, and pulled off a cracker event.

“It was an absolute pleasure working in a positive environment and the results speak for themselves. I would personally like to thank, Tim from ANDRA and Shane from The Bend for working with PDRC.

“My thoughts go out to David Willis, Danny Makdessi and Russell Mills and wish a speedy recovery where we hope to see them back on track doing what they do best real soon.

“I really hope ANDRA Regional Sportsman Championship and local Track Championship series benefited from the increased public exposure PDRC brought the event, this is just the start of what we can achieve when all the parts sync and work together for the common goal to make drag racing a success story.”
