A packed Warwick Dragway hosted the returning Aeroflow Outlaw Nitro Funny Car series that will be travelling all around Australia in 2025, the racing was as wild as expected, drama filled, and record breaking.
Round one was not what we wanted to see with Christine Steffens having a big moment driving the Piranha Racing ‘Time Traveller’ funny car. Breaking traction the funny car broke hard left sideswiping the wall and bucking across track to impact the other wall.

Steffens was fine in the incident but the funny car was left a little beat up, team owner Peter Peirano is always the optimist and was unfazed, confident the car will be repaired and back on track within a few months ready to re-join the series.
The rest of the funny car posse included Morice McMillin in Nitro Express, Justin Walshe in Terminator, Josh Leahy in Bandit and Graeme Frawley in King Kong.

All cars delivered great side by side passes across the three rounds of racing, some a little wilder than others, but it was Nitro Express dominating the track times. McMillin won all three races going quicker on every lap with a 5.50, followed by a 5.42, before decimating the track record with a 5.29 at 281mph showing the regional venue could hold the horsepower.

The next stop for the Aeroflow Outlaw Nitro Funny Cars will be Sydney Dragway for Day of the Drags on Mar 8.
