The GAS Motorsport Mustang steered by Zoran Gajic narrowly eclipsed Rob Campisi’s quickest Australian turbo powered elapsed time mark of 5.958 with a 5.954 second run last weekend during the SuperNats at Sydney Dragway.
The GAS team have a number of records in their bag, Joe Signorelli owns the World Sport Compact ET record with their 2JZ Celica and also Po Tung’s World Record breaking Celica. The team have recently made the move into the V8 turbo scene with Zoran’s Mustang and also have another Mustang to debut for Tung.
Reverting back to the NHRA legal twin 88mm turbo setup to find a baseline after originally bolting on giant 94mm huffers but unable to contain the power, the Mustang has found deadly consistency with a string of five second passes.
With plenty of boost still to be dialled in, the potential is limitless.
Check out these this action from the SuperNats, including the insane final run against the Moits Racing Outlaw 10.5 Mustang, did someone say turbo cars are boring?!
