FRY IN PRO ALCOHOL SWITCH

After campaigning short wheelbase blown alcohol altereds and funny cars, Darren Fry has gone against the Pro Alcohol grain, switching up his DSFab operation to take on the new NDRC season with a record-holding dragster.

It’s been a long minute since Darren and Selina Fry’s Pro Alcohol team last hit the track, after their Pro Alcohol Funny Car suffered heavy chassis damage in a testing incident leading into the 2022 Winternationals.

With that car repaired, the plan was to step into a new Funny Car program by importing a Ray Martin alcohol machine from the U.S. However, following an expansion of their race shop and a major step up with the construction of a new transporter, there was a change of tack, with the Frys instead purchasing Tim Clifton’s Pro Alcohol Dragster.

The dragster still holds the Pro Alcohol Dragster ET records at 5.397s set at the 2023 Winternationals, and alcohol tuner extraordinaire Mark Brew will also be joining the team.

“After racing sedans, altered, and funny cars, there was only one challenge left unticked – a dragster,” said Fry.

The team will begin testing ahead of the first round of the NDRC Pro Alcohol Championship at the Willowbank’s Pro Alcohol Nationals on the Australia Day weekend 2026.
