Australian Junior Dragster standout Luca Lamattina will represent Australia on the international stage in July after being selected for the 2026 Kanga Kids USA Junior Dragster Tour.

The young Victorian is one of just four Australian racers chosen to compete in the United States, where the team will contest two of the world’s premier junior drag racing events at the legendary Bristol Dragway, known globally as “Thunder Valley”, in Tennessee.
The tour includes:
- Mike Bos Chassis Craft Jr. Dragster Nationals (10-12 July)
- Right Trailers NHRA Junior Drag Racing League Eastern Conference Finals (13-18 July)
Both events regularly attract more than 600 competitors aged between six and 18 years old, making them among the largest and most competitive Junior Dragster events in the world.
Luca heads to the United States in strong form following a standout Australian season.
Most recently, Luca claimed victory at the Riverbend Nationals and secured consecutive top qualifying performances, further cementing his reputation as one of Australia’s leading young drag racing talents.
His racing achievements already include:
- Three Australian National Finals appearances
- Three Australian National Runner-Up finishes
- Four National Top Qualifier awards
Driving his newly liveried FUCHS Lubricants junior dragster that is powered by a Pure Power 3.5″ engine, Luca will race a car supplied by Trevor Wiggins and the team at GET’M Performance during the tour.
The Lamattina family extends its sincere thanks to Trevor Wiggins and GET’M Performance for their support and generosity in making the opportunity possible, along with long-time partner FUCHS Lubricants Australia for helping support Luca’s international campaign.
The tour will provide invaluable experience against some of the world’s best young racers, with competitors reaching speeds of up to 85mph (136km/h) while developing the skills, discipline and sportsmanship that have made Junior Dragsters a proven pathway to professional motorsport since 1992.
For Luca, with momentum on his side, the Wemen racer is ready to take on Thunder Valley and showcase Australian talent against the world’s best junior drag racers.
