Aeroflow Nitro Funny Cars will unveil the newest addition to its stable, the wild beast known as Raging Bull, an Outlaw Nitro Funny Car piloted by rising Queensland racer Damon Paton, with the car set to make its competitive debut at Nitro in the Cane 2026, held Saturday 29 August at Palmyra Dragway in Mackay, QLD.
The launch marks the next step in Paton’s rapid rise through Australia’s nitro ranks. A second-generation racer who cut his teeth in Supercharged Outlaws and Group 2 AA/Funny Car, Paton stepped into a Nitro Funny Car for the first time in 2025 with Aeroflow, and has quickly established himself as one of the category’s most exciting young talents — backing up a runner-up finish at the 2025 Nitro Nationals with a strong start to the 2026 XPRO Nitro Funny Car season.
Raging Bull represents a fresh chapter for the Aeroflow racing program, and its debut at Nitro in the Cane will give fans in Queensland a first look at the car in full competition trim. The event is one of Palmyra Dragway’s headline meetings, combining full quarter-mile drag racing from 12pm with a dedicated nitro showcase from 3pm, and is being run in conjunction with PDRC Championship Round 3.
“I can’t wait to race at home. Palmyra is where it all began for me, so racing there is really special. When the deal was made to run the Aeroflow Outlaw Funny Cars at Palmyra, I jokingly asked Morice what I had to do to drive one at home. A week or so later, he and GC decided to put another car together so I could drive without any of the other drivers missing out — and here we are,” said Paton.
“The car came out better than I imagined. It didn’t have a name for a while, until GC came up with ‘Raging Bull.’ It was almost ‘Young Bull,’ but the workshop boys reminded me that I’m over 30 now.”
“This is the biggest meeting of the year for Palmyra Dragway — if you love cars even a little, you need to be trackside Saturday afternoon. These cars make 4,000 horsepower, throw huge flames, and rumble the ground. You don’t want to miss it,” Paton added.
Nitro in the Cane regularly draws a strong regional motorsport crowd, and organisers are expecting Raging Bull’s debut to be a major drawcard for the meeting.
Joining the ‘Bull will be a whole fleet of Aeroflow Outlaw Nitro Funny Cars, including, King Kong, The Terminator, The Bandit, and the ever popular Nitro Express.
