Drag News is saddened to hear of the passing of Robert Maggs.
Best known for his spectacular wheelstanding Monaro, SNAFU, during his racing days, Robert became a familiar and much-loved figure in Australian drag racing. Always loved to have a chat, he left a lasting impression on those he met and a proud legacy through Maggs Racing.
That legacy continued through his son Jason and grandchildren Joshua, Aubree and Edith, whose racing journeys he proudly supported as a mentor. Even as the next generation took to the track, Robert remained involved in the sport he loved, continuing to lend a hand crewing whenever needed.
Our sincere condolences are extended to Robert’s family, friends and all those who knew him during this difficult time.
