Shane Tucker defeated number one qualifier Chris McGaha in the opening round of the Carquest Auto Parts NHRA Nationals in Phoenix but things got a bit hairy for Tucker in the braking area.
With the chutes failing to deploy, Tucker locked up the wheels on the Auzmet Architectural car several times trying to bring it to a stop.
It was the only negative in Tucker’s win, which saw him holeshot McGaha .040 to .134 and hold on for a 6.62 to 6.57 win.
