The Paul Mouhayet driven Moits twin turbo, Proline 481X powered Mustang cemented the Sydneysider as the fastest man on earth in a doored car over the quarter, eclipsing is old mark with a booming 274.33 mph run at the Street Car Supernationals in St Louis.
Tuned by gun Steve Petty, Mouhayet blasted out some test laps during the event culminating with the 274mph blast with a personal best ET of 5.59 seconds.
Racing in Outlaw Pro Mod, the class itself was being contested over the 1/8th mile and in official qualifying Mouhayet clocked a 3.90 at 208mph to qualifying ninth. Randall Reid was king in qualifying with a 3.58 in his blown Corvette just edging out Frankie Madman Taylor’s 3.59.
A off pace run in round one saw Mouhayet defeated by Don Wollet’s Corvette in the first round – the Stupid Fast Racing Corvette of Taylor won the event.
