Perth Motorplex ran a Street King competition at its Formula Tech WhoopAss Wednesday event on May 11, with $500 up for grabs for the quickest street car on the night.
Taking out the honours was Dean Irvine’s LOVEHATE Holden Commodore, which blasted out an 8.83 at 158mph.
“Didn’t think I would be seeing an eight second pass this season,” Irvine said. “No way would I have done this without the help of Shane Stephen and John Lloyd. I would say these two are well respected in the industry as I have taken a full street car weighing in at 1.85 tonne and went 8.83 1/4mile at 158mph in just my first season.”
The Commodore is powered by a 408ci LQ9 with two GTX 35 turbos, and is regularly street driven.
