Shane Tucker has tested his Auzmet Architectural/Rob Tucker Racing Camaro in Memphis ahead of a return to NHRA Pro Stock at the US Nationals.
Tucker made three runs, besting with a 6.749 from the 500ci, EFI equipped machine. Quickest of the other Pro Stock drivers testing during the day was Erica Enders-Stevens with a 6.67.
Shane’s father and crew chief Rob Tucker said the team were pretty happy with the results.
“We matched the Elite cars in the 60 foot last session but our car was light on clutch every pass,” he said. “We are now sending the clutch back to be recoated for next weekend. We are pretty confident we would have run 6.6 if the clutch would stay hooked up. Tuck’s lights were .004, .008, and .005 – all red. We just need to slow the car up a bit reaction wise and I think we will be in good shape next week.
“Thanks to everyone who helped today and big thanks to all the people in Australia for supporting what we do.”
