Willowbank Raceway is currently hosting the latest grudge racing series headlined by American Drag Week superstar Larry Larson who has transported his now legendary Nova and S-10 truck down under for a four event program.
The Outlaw Armageddon series will pit Larson’s S-10 ute in a quarter mile “Armageddon Shootout” against some of the country’s quickest sedans including Team Bray, while the Nova will slot into “Outlaws Unleashed” against a host of pro street machines that qualified to make the list, with racing lights out style over the eighth.
The first round saw series team up with the original Lights Out team in front of a very strong crowd.
Larson ran a string of sixes in the S10 with a best of 6.30 at 224mph winning every round.
In the Nova, James Horan managed to sneak one past Larson during Lights Out, his only defeat of the event.
Heralding in the new year, the second round of the series was low key affair. Larson cranked out his best ET yet in the S-10 with a 6.26 at 235mph that ended in the highly publicised spin which you can see in a previous article on this website. Unfortunately though the consequence was a damaged transmission, leaving the team frantically looking for a replacement to be ready for round three on Jan 4.
The series will wrap up on Jan 7 at the New Year’s Thunder event.
