The first ever father-daughter combination in Australian Nitro Funny Cars begun in January at Perth Motorplex, with Emma Begley continuing her licensing at the event in Groove’n as father Anthony watched on closely, while also taking on driving duties in LA Hooker.
Emma said she was pleased with her runs across that day in January and she has since completed several more testing passes.
“It was by far the best racing event I have ever seen, side by side flames, amazing crowds and some of the most amazing drives and people involved in putting this show together,” she said. “As for myself I completed four licensing passes which I and all the boys where happy with.
“Although the nerves don’t get any easier, the experience of going down the track each time is still one of the most amazing feelings. I can’t wait to finish off the licensing process and be able to race along side the other teams.”
Anthony echoed the sentiments of his daughter and is looking forward to going side by side.
“Hopefully next time the Funny Cars are here I will have the chance to race against Emma,” he said.
Emma will next be in action at the Grand Final event at Perth Motorplex on April 8.
