Rod Oberg got to see his dream realised at Willowbank Raceway on Saturday when he took to the track in his new Supercharged Outlaws Funny Car. But the debut almost turned to disaster.
A fuel line came off the Chev Monte Carlo-bodied machine on its second pass and it was only the quick reactions of Rod that saved the car.
“Just goes to show no matter how hard you try and be prepared and check everything when learning, you just have to check everything again,” the team said via Facebook. “We got lucky this time and won’t make the same mistake again. Hope to be out again in a couple of weeks and finish licensing.”
