As the second season of the 400 Thunder Drag Racing Series draws closer to its conclusion at the Gulf Western Oil 50th Winternationals, it has achieved yet another considerable milestone to add to its already successful tally.
Over one million viewers have now tuned in to watch 400 Thunder Drag Racing over the course of the 2016-17 season, via either the OVO Free Live Stream or the 400 Thunder TV Program which airs on Fox Sports.
The initiative from 400 Thunder to make the online stream free and without geo-blocking has allowed its partners to grow their own brands through the loyal following that the series has online, both locally in Australia and abroad.
OVO CEO, Matt Jones, today said, “6 months in to OVO’s sponsorship and live stream deal with 400 Thunder, this has proven hands down one of the most successful partnerships OVO has struck to date. A combination of bringing a live broadcast of the events to fans of the sport, as well as incredible fan experiences at the events, has seen a four fold increase in awareness of the OVO brand across motorsport category. More than anything though this is about working closely with the sport to extend its reach and bring this incredible sport to the fans. I have now been to two major 400 Thunder events, and I can say with certainty, I’m now a fan. That’s why OVO’s tagline is #ForTheFans.”
Other Companies such as Gulf Western Oil, Titan and Uplift Cranes and AEG Powertools have all taken advantage of the increased exposure offered through the new and exciting platforms.
400 Thunder TV commentator Rusty Gregory was also enthusiastic about the results, saying, “In just our second season, to have over 1,000,000 people watching the awesome racing that the teams have put on this season is a sensational result for the series, our teams and our corporate partners. And to think that we still have what promises to be the biggest event of the season left to run, the Gulf Western Oil 50th Winternationals, which I am sure will see these numbers increase considerably to cap off the season.”
Fans will be able to tune in to the final round of the series on the OVO Live Stream from 3pm on Friday 9th June, from 8 am on Saturday 10th June for final qualifying and 8am on Sunday 11th June to see final eliminations.
The Fox Sports TV program will air every week on Thursday evening for the remainder of the season, with the Gulf Western Oil Winternationals shows airing from 22nd June.
