Champion Super Stock racer Steven Norman has made sure he will stand out from the rest of the field with the debut of his striking new D/GA BMW M3 coupe.
Norman parted ways with his championship winning Chevy Cobalt in favour of the R/T Marine built BMW.
“Well I noticed the BMW sitting in the Perth Motorplex pits at a Westernationals five years ago and straight away thought about debuting a Super Stock version,” Norman told Sporting Scribe.
The original car was sourced from a scrap yard in the U.S. before R/T Marine worked their craft of turning it into a race car.
“I got the boys (Ryan & Reg Lee) to measure it up, and here we are five years later with an unbelievable version of European motoring.”
“The attention to detail is simply unbelievable and I cannot fault any part of the build at all. I had enormous trust in the boys to get the job done and they certainly haven’t let me down,” he said.
Running the 312ci Bob Book bullet out of the Cobalt, Norman turned the wheels in anger for the first time last weekend at Adelaide International Raceway and went under the D/GA National Record with a 8.39.
Currently set up for /Gas, the BMW is destined to wreak havoc in /MP down track.
