Team Bray Racing’s Ben Bray is on tenterhooks as he waits for the world’s largest sport compact drag racing event to hit Willowbank Raceway this weekend.
The Honeywell Garrett Jamboree, presented by Tuners Edge and Link ECU, will be held at Queensland’s premier drag racing facility this Saturday and Sunday (August 26/27).
The Gulf Western Oil and Century Batteries-supported racer says he is looking forward to what is sure to be a mammoth two days of racing and off-track entertainment at his home track.
“Sport Compact drag racing is a real love of mine, so I guess it is no surprise that I am counting down the sleeps to this weekend!” Bray enthused.
“What (event directors) Ray Box and Collin Willshire have done with the Jamboree is so impressive. It is now a truly international event, seeing racers from Australia, New Zealand, Japan and Puerto Rico hitting the track.
“The racing is wall-to-wall action across both days, and the off-track entertainment program is just as busy with everything from sound-offs to drifting to Supercar Sunday to whet the appetite of race fans.
“To me, this is not just a racing event. It is an event that encapsulates all that is the sport compact scene and in my opinion it is not one to be missed.
“I can’t wait to see what unfolds across this weekend at my home track of Willowbank Raceway.”
The Honeywell Garrett Jamboree, presented by Tuners Edge and Link ECU, featuring the Oceania College of Technology Puerto Rican Australian Tour, will hit Willowbank Raceway across August 26 and 27.
It will be the 27th running of what is the world’s largest sport compact drag racing event, and is set to host more than 220 race teams across its two days.
