Rapisarda Autosport International occupies 10th spot after Wayne Newby ran 3.80/321.88 mph in the first of five rounds of qualifying for the 63rd annual Chevrolet Performance NHRA U.S. Nationals at Lucas Oil Raceway Indianapolis.
“A 3.80 was a good run,” said Newby.
“I think there is room for improvement. We had a small problem on the run. I thought we had dropped a cylinder but what we discovered was a brake caliper was dragging on the right hand side and holding the car up. I had my hands full keeping the car off the wall.”
“Tomorrow we get two runs and hope to get into the 3.70s and move up the ladder.”
