Sydney drag bike racer Niki Zakrzewski has been doing great things overseas chasing her drag bike racing dream. She is already the quickest woman ever to ride a motorcycle down the quarter and now today has become the first woman to break the 200mph barrier on two wheels.
Competing at the Man Cup event at the DME Nationals held at Rockingham Dragway, Zakrzewski rode her Suzuki into history with a 6.51 at 200.65mph during the first qualifying session. She then backed the run up with a 6.45 at 205mph.
Niki spoke to Cycledrag.com after the run and said, “I was always confident that I would do well, I want to thank Dan Wagner for a great tune-up, my crew of course, Walt Timblin for a great chassis, and all of the Pro Mod motorcycle drag racers who have encouraged me all the way since I first arrived here and raced with Man Cup in 2015.” Niki also thanked, “Bill Vose, Mark Rendeluk, Chris Wedman, Chris Garner Jones, TT Jones, Travis Davis, Chuck Wilburn and his Dad, Brad McCoy, Paul Gast, Spencer Allen, McKinney Racing, Ashley Owens, Ronnie Procopio and their families. This is a great honor.”
Jay Regan, of the Man Cup motorcycle drag racing sanction commented, “The ManCup congratulates Niki on her tremendous accomplishment.
