Leonard Azzopardi has been leading the no-bar bike brigade for many years with the bike dubbed “Quiksilver” – now meet “Outrun”.
Azzopardi unveiled the next level Hayabusa monster yesterday at Sydney Dragway’s Bike Night.
The bike went 7.64 at 184mph on its very first pass and backed it up with another 7.6 later on in the night for a successful shakedown.
“Outrun’s aim was to be the most Australian built Extreme Bike possible,” said Azzopardi.
“Obviously, a build like this involves more than one person. Terry Jackson at IM Composite Technologies did a fantastic job on the custom bodywork, which allowed Steven Tobin, Mick Cole and Nathan Tobin to perform their magic on the paintwork. This was then followed up by Matt Reynolds from Reynolds Signs who with short notice, was able to create and install the graphics within 48 hours. Massive thanks to these guys, we couldn’t have done it without you.
“I’d also like to thank Turbosmart for supplying their awesome Australian products and Alex Borg for all the help and motivation.”
Here’s “Outrun” firing up.
