“Mad” Mark Hinchelwood’s crazy “turbo with an altered attached” is well remembered as he car that set AA/MA national records – well look out, he is coming back with a new car.
Hinchelwood hasn’t raced since his serious accident with the Sainty Top Alcohol Funny Car, but after fully recovering from that the Motorsport Connections proprietor has been biding time playing in the dirt with his Sprintcar.
The new car is a brand new Top Alcohol spec chassis that will handle the power the turbo big block will output.
“Basically we sold the roller and purchased a brand new Richard Botica roller from Arnells who wanted to run a Top Alcohol Altered,” said Hinchelwood.
“The plan is for me to drive it and Andrew Musgrave (who co-drove the original altered) to drive when my Speedway meetings clash. We hope to have it finished later in the year.”
