The second round of the Atura NSW Championship Series was going along beautifully until an unexpected storm cell ruined everyone’s day.
With most brackets only getting their first round in before the wet stuff fell, only those eliminated in the early rounds saw an upside with the cancellation limiting points damage.
To that point the event was relatively incident free, bar Daniel Moore’s trip into the catch net which dented his freshly painted long-serving dragster.
Stuart Bennett rocked up in the ex-Parker GXP, transplanting his twin-turbo bullet out of the Camira into a much more suitable chassis and was rewarded with his first 200mph ticket.
Paul Stephen also punched his first double-ton ticket.
It was shake city still for Brett Gillespie’s refurbished Pro Slammer.
