With the 400 Thunder Pro Stock Championship reaching its crescendo at the Winternationals in just a few weeks time, Jason Hedges Racing is pushing hard for a best ever finish.
“This will be our strongest finish in five seasons of racing, in the toughest class of drag racing,” said Hedges.
With Dave Tucker on deck the team have gone it alone this season in the tuning department overcoming early season jitters.
“We made a decision this season to go solo and make all the set up and tuning calls for the DecoGlaze/Mr Taxman Pontiac GXP,” said Hedges.
“It’s no secret we struggled early and hurt our engine more than once early in the season, but persistence and dedication to get it right has paid off, as shown with our current position in the championship.”
“Dave Tucker my crew chief is a never quit sorta guy. Dave will get the GXP on the track, with myself buckling up on the jacks in the pits, with gaskets still settling and silicone still curing.”
Hedges only has a 28 point lead ahead of close rival Tyronne Tremayne in third place of the championship.
The on track battle between Tremayne and Hedges at the upcoming Winternationals will be one to watch to see who can come up trumps for a vital second place in the championship.
“This will exceed the team’s goal for the season,” explained Hedges.
“If we can pull this off, it will be due to the crew’s efforts, not mine. DT, Justin, Jason and Cameron have all pulled off an amazing year for JHR.”
“It was our learn from your mistakes year and to get where we have so far is nothing short of impressive to me.”
