The fuel altered brigade will soon have another join its stable with the Phil Tucker-owned Light Horse AA/FA edging very close to its debut after a successful series of first warm ups.
The Light Horse AA/FA has been in the build for some time. It is a chassis formerly driven by Richard Botica but has had a complete rebuild to replicate the traditional fuel altered look. Graeme Cowin has been instrumental in the final stages of the build to breath life into the animal which will see Stephen “Wombat” Brown being tasked with the driving duties.
After the day of warmups Brown had this to say.
“Yesterday I had the opportunity to do the greatest thing I have ever done in my 28 years of drag racing. I sat behind the wheel of a nitro burning altered put together by myself and six of the greatest blokes I know,” he said.
“Firstly I would like to thank Phil Tucker for giving me the opportunity to drive this wild machine and for having the faith in us to build it. The six guys Wayne Beszant, Craig Chamberlain, Andrew Hurst, Ben Gardiner, Ian Brown and Marty Whiley I can’t thank you guys enough, there is no way I could have done it with out you.”
“And to Graeme Cowin, you are a true legend, without your support and kindness what we achieved on Friday would have never happened. Morice McMillin, Shane Olive, Clinton Lochhead, Micheal Clarke and Mitchell you guys are the best in the business thank you for all your help and guidance.”
