With pre-event testing now complete, the stage is set for the Honeywell Garrett Brisbane Jamboree presented by Link ECU and Tuners Edge to roar into life at Willowbank Raceway this weekend.
Two big days of on and off-track action lay ahead for racers and spectators across Saturday and Sunday (August 25 and 26). Alongside the racing for on-track victories as well as competition in the Shannons Insurance Show ‘N’ Shine, Sound Off, Dyno Comp and more, there will be two ‘races within the race’ thanks to the PWR Cash Boost and Castrol EDGE Workshop Challenge concepts.
The PWR Cash Boost will see those behind PWR’s Advanced Cooling Technology reward consistency in the Factory Xtreme, Pro Turbo and Pro Compact categories. The racer achieving the three most consistent runs in qualifying for each of these brackets will be awarded $1000 by PWR, with cheques to be presented to the three award-getters as part of startline presentations made after the conclusion of qualifying on Saturday.

The Castrol EDGE Workshop Challenge meanwhile will create a competition between race workshops which are traditionally involved in the building or maintaining of race cars for customers.
Created in such a way that it is fair for all workshops to participate, regardless of their size, the competition will give participants the chance to win the prestigious ‘Workshop Challenge Billet J Trophy as well as a $500 cheque which will be presented to an Australian charity chosen jointly by the winning team and Jamboree Australia.
The Castrol EDGE Workshop Challenge will include nominated workshop competitors from the categories of Modified Compact, Street 289, J275, Pro Compact, Pro Turbo and Factory Xtreme. Participants will score points for round wins and losses while the challenge competitor who achieves the best reaction time in each round of racing in their category will also be awarded another three points each round. These points will be added together for a total score per workshop, which will then be divided by the total number of competitors for the workshop to obtain an average score – the team with the highest average score is the winner.
