Qualifying is complete for most classes at the world’s biggest radial tyre race, No Mercy 9, with Australian teams putting in strong performances over the week so far – including two more three second cars.

Wade Wagstaff leads the Aussie charge in Radial vs The World, where a 3.90 second run in Thursday’s night session put him into 13th place in the field. The run was his third three second pass for the day (Wade’s PB before Thursday was a 4.02), in an impressive display of consistency from the 57 Chev.

The team elected to skip Friday’s day run with plans to improve in another night session, but a thunderstorm shut down qualifying early and sends the 32-entrant field into eliminations on Saturday morning (US time).

Jeremy Martin joined Wagstaff in the threes with a brilliant 3.97 run in the Holden VB Commodore. Martin is still new to the radial game but didn’t take long to find his groove, qualifying 18th in Radial vs The World.

Jarrod Wood might have been a late addition to the entry list but he has settled right into the seat of the Bill Schurr/Kevin Mullins Jeep Grand Cherokee, qualifying tenth in X275 with a 4.45 run on Thursday.

Harry Haig still has some qualifying to go in the 6.0 Index division but managed to get reasonably close to the mark with a 6.10 pass from his Chevelle,
