Of all the strange drag racing related things we have seen on the Internet, this jet powered Junior Dragster might take the cake.
Built by Transturbine in the USA, the car came up for sale on eBay in 2013 and again in 2014, but hasn’t been seen again since.
According to the ad, this “one of a kind machine” had a Boeing 502-7 gas-turbine engine lodged into a standard JD chassis. It reportedly put out around 270 pounds of thrust. The two-piece exhaust nozzle is made of stainless steel coated with ceramic for heat proofing and featured a 7.5 gallon fuel tank.
There’s no actual video or photos of this thing running on a drag strip, though there is a start up video (scroll down to view). Further adding to the strangeness of this deal though, there ARE photos of the Junior Dragster as part of a bikini photoshoot on the creator’s Facebook page. This thing is definitely not for kids.
