Phil Read will be debuting the new Jim Read Racing top fuel dragster this coming weekend at the Fuchs Australian Nationals, Sydney Dragway.
This top fuel dragster has all the latest and greatest specifications and engine components and is direct from the USA Kalitta Motorsports stable.
Team principal Jim Read was thrilled to announce that the new race car will be back to his favourite colour again red, and after an uncertain start to the 2011-2012 championship season, was proud to annouce that the team will be carrying Valvoline branding for the Fuchs Australian Nationals this weekend.
For most of Jim’s racing career and as far back as the 1976 Nationals where he won Nitro Funny Car and Top Fuel at Adelaide Raceway in South Australia sealing Australian Championship titles in both categories for that year, has used and carried support from Valvoline.
Tony McDermott Marketing Manager from Valvoline stated that the company was proud to be associated with Phil Read and the Jim Read Racing team, he wished the team well and looked forward to a successful event this weekend.
A win for Phil Read at the 2011 Fuchs Australian Nationals will be positive step for the Jim Read Racing team for their 2011 – 2012 ANDRA Championship campaign.
After testing the new race car last Saturday at Sydney Dragway and dropping a 4.82 on the unsuspecting crowd, Phil said he couldn’t wait to push the car further at the Nationals, Phil also thanked Mark and Tracey Halford from McDonalds Windsor for their support of the team and is confident that his brother Bruce and the crew will have a red hot race car for him this weekend.
