Three-time Motorplex Track Champion and Driver of the Year, Allen Puglia has blasted his way into the new season, claiming the second tier of the podium at the Grand Opening on Saturday night.
“The car was better than the driver on Saturday night,” a repentant Puglia said. “I just didn’t expect it to react so well, but to run more than a tenth under the national record just blew the whole team away. This is a great way to start the season for AHG and Stonecivil.”
With netting the second place, Puglia’s personal challenge to improve the performance of the Ford Probe that had served him so well for the last three seasons received a breath of fresh air, running a 7.105 in the final, and throwing the two car owner into a decision making dither.
“We’re faced with some interesting decisions now with which car to invest our time into developing. We felt like we’d got everything out of the Probe that we could, but now we’ve found something more, the goal to get into the 7.0’s is realistic again. All the while, we have a beautiful Mustang just sitting in the shed. If nothing else, it certainly proves that old saying “if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.”
Puglia’s title defence continues when the ANDRA Pro Series circus comes to town at the legendary Goldenstates Nationals, November 18 and 19.
