Queensland Pro Slammer racer Steven Ham did not take long to make an impact on radial tyres, recording Australia’s fastest ever speed on radials over an eighth-mile.
Ham’s pass of 204.58mph on a 3.98 second trip down Willowbank Raceway bettered the existing record of 202.61mph, held by Perri Bullivant.
A later 3.91 run also made Ham the third quickest driver overall on a radial tyre in Australia.
Ham made the runs during testing for the Kenda Radial Redemption event, which is running today (Friday) and Saturday at Willowbank.
With the 400 Thunder Pro Slammer championship currently on hold until racers are able to travel interstate again, Ham might have time to make a few more impressive runs on a radial yet!
