Start your engines….DragFactor is headed to the startline

SINCE rFactor’s release back in 2005, sim racers worldwide have wanted for their own drag racing version of the game and after 3 years in the making, DragFactor creators are proud to announce that their long awaited sim title is making its way to the startline!

Some said that the project would happen “on the 10th of never” and that was enough inspiration for DragFactor’s owner and head modeller Anthony Birch (OzAngus94) to push ahead and complete his labour of love.

It has been a long road but unlike larger modding communities with many contributors, DragFactor has been created by just a small group of sim racing enthusiasts from Australia who all have an interest in drag racing.

DragFactor’s first release has been modelled on Australian “Top Doorslammer” sedans and the teams who have competed in the ANDRA Pro Drag Racing Series. There are also a number of U.S.A and European teams included and six fantasy teams to choose from as well.

Top Doorslammer’s are supercharged, alcohol fuelled V8 powered race cars that produce around 3,000 horsepower and they are raced over purpose built ¼ mile drag strips.
Covering the track in around 5 seconds, DragFactor sim racers will have to manually tune their suspension as well as choose the weight distribution, adjust their gearbox ratio and select the wing downforce to have the perfect run. These changes will affect the way the car behaves and the time it records.

With 15 different vehicles and 28 race teams to choose from, DragFactor sim racers will also be able to change their race combinations through a choice of upgrades including engine types, wheels choices, steering wheel options, wheelie bar lengths and exhaust header types.
While these upgrades don’t enhance the performance of the vehicle they’ve purely been included to give the racer options to customize their “Top Doorslammer” to the way they like it.

In DragFactor, sim racers will be able to go head to head and match race over the quarter mile for bragging rights or take part in fully simulated drag racing events and race series. Tracks included are Willowbank Raceway, Full Throttle Raceway and the Duke Boys drag strips. Sydney Dragway and Perth Motorplex are currently being created and will be available as a separate FREE download.
