The National Drag Racing Championship (NDRC) brought the ultimate nitro showdown to Willowbank Raceway for the Gulf Western Oil Winternationals at the weekend, with world and national records falling, thrilling head-to-heads for NDRC Gold Christmas Trees, and some pretty big escapes to boot.

Lamattina Top Fuel Racing demonstrated resilience and determination at the Winternationals at Willowbank Raceway, overcoming a challenging weekend to secure valuable championship points and extend Phil Lamattina’s lead in the Top Fuel standings.

Another capacity crowd at Willowbank Raceway has again been treated to record breaking performances from the National Drag Racing Championship (NDRC) racers today as the 2026 Gulf Western Oil Winternationals – the largest championship drag racing event held outside of North America – came to a close.

It was billed as the ultimate drag racing show and so far, the Gulf Western Oil Winternationals has more than lived up to its name – with world and Australian records broken today in qualifying ahead of what is expected to be a truly intense day of racing for National Drag Racing Championship (NDRC) Gold on Sunday at Willowbank Raceway.
