The House and Land Expert Nitro Slam event is set to bring plenty of action to the Perth Motorplex this Saturday (January 29), featuring the Direct Mining International Summer Slam, the BME/Speedtorque WA Nitro Max Series, Dragon Bikes Nitro Bike, 150 of WA’s toughest Sportsman racers, and an exciting ‘Pit Party’ bringing fans up close and personal with their favourite racing heroes.
The event will well and truly deliver fans their nitro fix, with nine Nitro Funny Cars, Dragsters and Altereds hitting the track for the BME/Speedtorque WA Nitro Max Series alongside nine of the highly popular Top Doorslammers for the Direct Mining International Summer Slam, plus a host of other impressive racers for a big day and night of racing thrills.
One of the Doorslammer competitors taking to the track for Saturday’s event is Pino Priolo, who heads to Nitro Slam with the might of an exciting new major partner behind him.

At the Goldenstates in late 2021, Priolo made his comeback after a year away due to work commitments and building a new house and was competitive straight away – going all the way to the finals.
Having now joined forces with global heavy equipment maintenance provider, Mader Group, he is keen to go one better at this weekend’s event to provide an exciting welcome for his new backer.
“To partner with Mader is very exciting. They are maintenance specialists who provide tooling, people and expertise to keep mining and civil equipment powering 24/7. We are thrilled to be able to announce this new partnership,” Priolo said.

“At the last round of the Direct Mining International Summer Slam Series at the Goldenstates I was the runner-up, so we will be trying to go one better for a perfect way to welcome Mader to our team!
“Following the Nitro Slam event, we will soon be back at the Perth Motorplex for Motorvation (February 4-6) with the car on display in the Mader tent for the whole weekend and with a fire-up on the Sunday.
“That is how this whole arrangement came about – I was approached by Justin about putting the car on display in Mader’s Motorvation marquee and I thought it would fit perfectly for them to have some branding on the side of the car. It all tied in so well together, and here we are now with a great new sponsor. I couldn’t be happier!”
Priolo has some big goals in mind for 2022.
“We have a great 2022 ahead and we will be doing all we can to give Mader maximum exposure. In the four Doorslammer rounds I have competed in so far, I have won once and been the runner-up three times, so hopefully we can bring home some more great results,” Priolo said.
“We have been away from the sport for a while, but we are back full of vigour. I would also like to make a special mention to John Zappia who has been steering us in the right direction, and helping us be competitive.
“This weekend’s Nitro Slam event is going to be fantastic for all involved, and we can’t wait to see what we can do!”

On-track action for the House and Land Expert Nitro Slam will commence from 11.00am with qualifying ahead of the main feature program from 5.30pm to 10.00pm (times approximate only), while the Pit Party will be held at 4.00pm in the pit area.
