It has only been a couple of months since Nino Cavallo devastating accident in the Pro Stock final of the 2022 Winternationals, but the team are well on the way to making a comeback to the track.
The team’s Dodge was heavily damaged in the crash that saw Cavallo flip over and hit the wall in the final at Willowbank Raceway, fortunately Cavallo walked away unscathed.
There are plans to repair the crashed Dodge over time for Nino’s son Dion, but for Nino, he has already purchased a new ride, and of course it will be a Mopar.
Landing the Cavallo Racing camp is the former Lee Bektash Dodge Avenger, the car still holds the Australian Pro Stock outright record at 6.87/200MPH, and Nino acknowledges it is some big shoes to fill.
The deal isn’t turn key so there is still some work to be done for Cavallo Racing before we see them back on the track.
“The car is been given a going through front to back, it needs a few things done to it that are missing from the previous owner, but we will get there,” said Nino Cavallo.
“Our BRE motor has been checked over by CJS Performance, and all is good apart from a new dry sump tank, dizzy, and repair a couple of header pipes done by CJS.
