Despite not being able to finish the task at the recent Winternationals, Pro Stock racer Bill Kotsias is still upbeat about his team’s performance at the washed out event.
A sterling 6 second pass from the underdog made a few others sit up and pay attention to the Victorian team.
“The car is home and I still don’t think it has sunk in at what we as a team have achieved in such a short time with this car,” Kotsias grinned.
A huge amount of effort went in to getting this new car to perform with Kotsias not leaving a stone unturned in order to step up the operation.
“It was great having Bob Book our engine builder and carby guru over from USA to help us, not to mention my hardworking crew of Dave Rickard, Stix, Bill Kakaras, Merter and Bill Farrugia putting in the hard yards at the track.”
“A special thanks must also go to Allan Puglia from Allan Puglia Racing who was helping and giving us support over the weekend,” he said.
Running a 7.003 best in qualifying slotted Kotsias in third spot before the GTO cranked out a great 6.983@195.85mph in the first round of eliminations. Resetting the ET track record for Pro Stock at Willowbank and coming within 1/1000th of the National Record.
“The meeting and that pass exceeded my expectations and can’t wait for more.” concluded Kotsias.
Kotsias values his sponsors P.A.T Premier Auto Trade, Kew Automotive, Quickbitz.com.au and Sidchrome.
